Educational Q&A

True inner completeness is shown not by isolation or pride, but by steady association with the noble and by mastery over desire and anger. One should not compromise dharma for profit, nor let sense-objects dictate one’s movements and choices.

In the Śānti Parva’s didactic setting, the Haṃsa speaks as a teacher, describing his own disciplined conduct: he remains composed, seeks the company of the virtuous, and lives without being driven by craving, wrath, or the pursuit of pleasures.
