Mahābhārata 12.292

प्रयत्नेन च संसिद्धा धनैरपि विवर्जिता: । सम्यग्‌ हुत्वा हुतवहं मुनयः सिद्धिमागता:

prayatnena ca saṁsiddhā dhanair api vivarjitāḥ | samyag hutvā hutavahaṁ munayaḥ siddhim āgatāḥ ||

帕罗娑罗说道:“纵无财物,诸牟尼圣者亦以自身不懈之精进而得成就。依仪将供物投入圣火,行阿耆尼火供(agnihotra),遂达灵性之成功。”此偈昭示:守戒精勤与如法行持,可使人不凭物质而获证得。
