Chapter 29
तावती: प्रददौ गा: स शिविरौशीनरो<ध्वरे । “आज संसारमें जंगली पशुओंसहित जितने गाय-बैल और घोड़े हैं, उतनी संख्यामें उशीनरपुत्र शिबिने अपने यज्ञमें केवल गौओंका दान किया
tāvatīḥ pradadau gāḥ sa śibirauśīnaro 'dhvare |
风神婆由说道:“在那场祭祀中,乌希那罗之子尸毗所施舍的牛多到不可思议——其数目等同于世间所有的牛、牡牛与马,甚至包括野兽群中所有同类。”此言凸显尸毗非凡的布施之德,以及通过祭祀(yajña)践行无私施与的达摩理想。
वायुदेव उवाच
The verse extols dāna as a central dharmic virtue: a righteous ruler demonstrates moral greatness through selfless giving, especially when performed in the context of yajña and public welfare, without attachment to possessions.
Vāyudeva describes Śibi’s extraordinary act of charity during a sacrifice: Śibi donates an unimaginably large number of cows—portrayed as matching the total cattle and even horses in the world—underscoring his legendary reputation for generosity.
