अत्राप्युदाहरन्तीममितिहासं पुरातनम् । गालवस्य च संवादं देवर्षेनरिदस्थ च,इस विषयमें भी जानकार मनुष्य देवर्षि नारद और महर्षि गालवके संवादरूप प्राचीन इतिहासका उदाहरण दिया करते हैं
atrāpy udāharantīmam itihāsaṁ purātanam | gālavasya ca saṁvādaṁ devarṣināradastha ca ||
毗湿摩说道:“在此事上,明达之人也常引一则古例:那是一段古老的传说,以圣者伽罗婆与天仙那罗陀的对话呈现。”
भीष्म उवाच
Ethical instruction is strengthened by precedent: Bhishma signals that the point under discussion is best understood through an authoritative ancient example, framed as a teacher–student style dialogue between Narada and Galava.
Bhishma introduces a new illustrative episode. He announces that knowledgeable people recount an old itihasa—specifically, a conversation between the divine sage Narada and the sage Galava—to illuminate the present topic.
