Livelihood, Virtuous Association, and Ethics of Giving
उस समय इन्द्र आदि सब देवताओंने दक्ष प्रजापतिके यज्ञमें जानेके लिये परस्पर मिलकर निश्चय किया ।।
te vimānair mahātmāno jvalanārka-samaprabhaiḥ | devasyānumate ’gacchan gaṅgādvāram iti śrutiḥ ||
毗湿摩说:“当时,以释迦(因陀罗)为首的诸天相互商议,决意前往达叉·般若波提的祭祀。那些大心的天神乘坐光辉灿然的天车,炽耀如火如日而出发。得大天(摩诃提婆)许可,他们前往恒河门(Gangādvāra,哈里德瓦尔)——此乃传统所传闻者。”
भीष्म उवाच
Even divine beings act through consultation and proper authorization: collective resolve (saṅgati) and deference to higher spiritual authority (Mahadeva’s assent) frame action within dharma, especially in sacred contexts like yajña and tīrtha.
Bhishma reports a traditional account: the gods, led by Indra, decide to attend Daksha’s sacrifice and travel in brilliant vimanas; after obtaining Mahadeva’s permission, they proceed to Gangadvara (Haridwar).
