Śreyas-nirdeśa (Discerning the Superior Good): Nārada–Gālava Saṃvāda
yo na hiṃsati sattvāni manovākkarmahetubhiḥ
Ahimsa is threefold and complete only when it is upheld in intention (mind), expression (speech), and conduct (action). Ethical purity is measured not just by what one does, but also by what one wills and says.
In the Śānti Parva’s dharma instruction, Bhīṣma continues advising on righteous conduct, emphasizing non-violence as a foundational virtue that must govern inner motives, spoken words, and outward deeds.
