नारद–असित (देवल) संवादः — भूतप्रभवाप्यय, इन्द्रिय-गुण-विवेक, क्षेत्रज्ञ-तत्त्व
स बुद्धिमुत्तमां प्राप्तो नैप्चेकीमकुतो भयाम् । सतीमशिशथिलां सत्यां वेदा३ इत्यब्रवीत् सकृत्
sa buddhim uttamāṁ prāpto naipcekīm akuto-bhayām | satīm aśithilāṁ satyāṁ vedā iti abravīt sakṛt ||
毗湿摩说:得至最上智慧——坚定不移,四方无惧——迦毗罗圣者只说了一句:“唉,吠陀!”以哀叹世人假吠陀之名而行不法之事。
भीष्म उवाच
True wisdom is fearless and unwavering, grounded in satya (truth). The verse highlights that mere appeal to Vedic authority is insufficient if one’s conduct is unethical; misuse of the Vedas for improper behavior is implicitly condemned.
Bhishma describes the sage Kapila as having attained supreme, steady, fearless intelligence. Kapila then speaks only once, exclaiming “Alas, the Veda!”, expressing lament or reproach at wrong actions being carried out under the banner of the Vedas.
