Kuṇḍadhāra-Upākhyāna: Dharma’s Superiority over Wealth and Desire
स्वं स्वं स्थानमुपागम्य स्वकर्मफलनिर्जितम् | भीष्मजी कहते हैं--राजन्! तदनन्तर थोड़े ही समयमें तुलाधार और जाजलि दोनों महाज्ञानी पुरुष परमधाममें जाकर अपने शुभ कर्मोके फलस्वरूप अपने-अपने स्थानको पाकर वहाँ सुखपूर्वक विहार करने लगे
svaṁ svaṁ sthānam upāgamya svakarmaphalanirjitam |
“各归其位,乃由自业之果所赢得。”毗湿摩说道:“大王啊,此后不久,图拉达罗与贾贾利——两位大智之士——同证至上之境。抵达由各自善业果报所获之位,他们在彼处安乐而住。”
भीष्म उवाच
The verse underscores karmic moral causality: each person attains a state (sthāna) corresponding to the fruits of their own actions. Ethical conduct and rightly performed duty lead to a higher, peaceful destination.
Bhishma concludes the account of Tuladhara and Jajali by stating that, after some time, both sages reached the supreme abode and obtained their respective stations earned through their virtuous deeds, living there in happiness.
