Dharma-Pramāṇa-Vicāra: The Elusiveness of Dharma and the Limits of Rule-Lists
yathā marīcyaḥ sahitāḥ śaranti sarvatra tiṣṭhanti ca dṛśyamānāḥ | dehair vimuktāni caranti lokāṁs tathaiva sattvāny atimānuṣāṇi ||
The verse teaches that certain beings, once freed from the gross body, can move through multiple realms; this subtle truth is apprehended not by ordinary sense-perception but by jñāna (spiritual insight).
Vyāsa is explaining an unseen metaphysical process using a visible analogy: as sunbeams are perceived everywhere while continuously streaming, so liberated-from-body beings can traverse the worlds—knowable only through the perspective of knowledge.
