नाकालतो भानुरुपैति योगं नाकालतो3स्तंगिरिमभ्युपैति | नाकालतो वर्धते हीयते च चन्द्र: समुद्रो5पि महोर्मिमाली
na kālato bhānur upaiti yogaṃ na kālato ’staṅgirim abhyupaiti | na kālato vardhate hīyate ca candraḥ samudro ’pi mahormimālī ||
毗耶娑说:太阳不在未至其时便与天际相接,也不在未至其时便趋向落山之处。同样,月亮不在非时而盈亏;即便那以巨浪为冠的海洋,也不在不当之时汹涌翻腾。由是可知,世间伟力皆在时间的统摄下运行;故当以忍耐与合宜而行,不可强逼结果,逆违所定之刻。
व्यास उवाच
That even the greatest forces in nature operate only in accordance with Kāla (Time); therefore a person should practice restraint, patience, and timely action rather than trying to compel results prematurely.
Vyāsa illustrates his counsel with cosmic examples—the sun’s rising/setting, the moon’s waxing/waning, and the ocean’s surging—to show that order and timing govern all processes, implying that human decisions too should align with proper time and dharma.
