व्यास उवाच
The verse teaches the sameness of the Self in oneself and in others: realizing the same consciousness in all beings, and sustaining that realization, qualifies one for amṛtatva—deathlessness or liberation.
In the instruction-heavy Shānti Parva, Vyāsa delivers a contemplative teaching: he points from inner experience (the knowing Self within) to a universal vision (the same Self in others), framing it as a practical, continuous realization that leads toward liberation.
