Karma–Vidyā Distinction: Paths of Bondage and Release
yathāvat kīrtitaṃ samyagevam etad asaṃśayam | bodhyaṃ vidyāmayaṃ dṛṣṭvā yogibhiḥ paramātmabhiḥ ||
The verse affirms the reliability of the teaching about the Supreme Self: it is not speculative but reported ‘as it is’ by yogins who have directly realized the knowable Reality that is of the nature of knowledge itself.
Vyāsa, speaking within the Śānti Parva’s instruction on peace and liberation, validates a prior exposition: realized yogins (paramātma-niṣṭha) have seen the truth and therefore describe it accurately and without doubt.
