Inquiry into Karma, Knowledge, Fate, and Nature
उपास्यो नारदो बाढं वाचि नास्य व्यतिक्रम: । कामतो यदि वा लोभात् तस्मात् सर्वत्र पूजित:
upāsyo nārado bāḍhaṃ vāci nāsya vyatikramaḥ | kāmato yadi vā lobhāt tasmāt sarvatra pūjitaḥ ||
风神伐由说道:“那罗陀确实堪受恭敬奉事。他在言语上从不背离自己所说之言——既不因欲望,也不因贪求。因此,他在一切处所都受尊崇。”
वायुदेव उवाच
The verse praises steadfast truthfulness: a person who does not retract or distort his words even under the pressures of desire or greed becomes universally respected and worthy of reverence.
Vāyudeva is describing Nārada’s character, highlighting his unwavering consistency in speech and explaining that this moral firmness is the reason for Nārada’s honor everywhere.
