व्यास उवाच
The verse models dharmic kingship: a ruler receives a sage with reverence, asks the purpose of the visit, and commits to fulfilling it—showing humility before spiritual authority and readiness to act for righteous ends.
A king approaches a revered dharma-knower (in context, the sage figure) and inquires why he has come, assuring him that whatever is requested should be regarded as already accomplished.
