वेदज्ञानं तथा कृत्स्नं तप: सुचरितं तथा । द्रविणोपार्जनं भूरि पात्रे च प्रतिपादनम्
vedajñānaṃ tathā kṛtsnaṃ tapaḥ sucaritaṃ tathā | draviṇopārjanaṃ bhūri pātre ca pratipādanam ||
毗耶娑宣示:君王应尽之业包括——具足对诸《吠陀》的圆满知见;善修苦行并持正行;奋力聚敛财用;并将布施审慎而有意地施与贤善之人。此乃王者之修持;若行之得当,既能维系社会秩序,又能成就现世安定与来世功德。
व्यास उवाच
Royal duty is not only power and protection but disciplined cultivation: complete sacred learning, austerity and moral conduct, responsible wealth-generation, and charitable giving to worthy recipients—together sustaining social order and producing merit.
