वालकोट्यग्रमात्रेण स्वार्थेनाघध्नत तद् वसु । कहीं धनके विषयमें संशय उपस्थित होनेपर अर्थात् यह धन न्यायतः मेरा है या दूसरेका

释迦罗(因陀罗)说道:“为了一点私利,小至发梢之尖,人们也会造罪,毁坏那份财物。若对产业归属生疑——究竟依法当属己身,抑或属他人——而真正的权利人请求友人请议会(潘查耶特)裁断此事,那友人却可能为区区微利,反将权利人的家产败坏殆尽。此教诫斥责琐碎贪欲:它败坏判断,摧毁对合法裁决的信赖。”
शक्र उवाच
Even the smallest selfish motive can lead to grave wrongdoing: greed corrupts fairness, destroys trust, and can cause the ruin of another’s rightful wealth. Dharma requires integrity especially in judgment and mediation.
Śakra describes a common ethical failure in disputes over wealth: when ownership is uncertain and a person seeks help from a friend to resolve it through a council, the friend—tempted by a tiny personal advantage—may act unjustly and cause the person’s property to be lost.
