nakṣatrakalpābharaṇāṃ tāṃ mauktikasamasrajam | śriyaṃ dadṛśatuḥ padmāṃ sākṣāt padacmadalasthitām ||
The verse presents Śrī (Lakṣmī) as a living principle of auspicious prosperity: true ‘śrī’ is not merely material gain but a divine order and radiance that aligns with dharma, purity, and rightful conduct.
Two observers (implied by ‘dadṛśatuḥ’, ‘the two saw’) witness a theophany: Lakṣmī, called Padmā, appears seated on a lotus-petal, adorned with star-like ornaments and pearl-like necklaces, emphasizing her celestial splendour.
