यस्तु शत्रोर्वशस्थस्य शक्तो5पि कुरुते दयाम् । हस्तप्राप्तस्य वीरस्य तं चैव पुरुषं विदु:
yastu śatror vaśasthasya śakto 'pi kurute dayām | hastaprāptasya vīrasya taṃ caiva puruṣaṃ viduḥ ||
毗湿摩说道：即使有惩罚之力，若有人仍能怜悯那已落入自己掌控之下的敌人——那位勇敢的对手既已在握——智者便认定此人确为真正的高贵之士。
