कालनिर्णयः, युगधर्मवर्णनम्, सृष्टिक्रमश्च

Time-Reckoning, Yuga-Dharma, and the Sequence of Creation

इन्द्र बोले--दैत्ययाज बलि! पहले जो तुम सहस्रों वाहनों और भाई-बन्धुओंसे घिरकर सम्पूर्ण लोकोंको संताप देते और हम देवताओंको कुछ न समझते हुए यात्रा करते थे और अब बन्धु-बान्धवों तथा मित्रोंसे परित्यक्त होकर जो अपनी यह अत्यन्त दीनदशा देख रहे हो, इससे तुम्हारे मनमें शोक होता है या नहीं? ।।

śakra uvāca— prītiṁ prāptātulāṁ pūrvaṁ lokāṁś cātmavaśe sthitān | vinipātam imaṁ bāle śocasy aho na śocasi ||

释迦罗(因陀罗)说:“噢,稚拙的婆利!往昔你得享无比欢悦,使诸世界尽归你掌控;而今你却坠入败亡,被亲族与友人所弃。见此翻覆,你可悲伤——还是竟全无悲伤?”
