Realization of Hari as indwelling in the Self leads to imperishability and liberation: the liberated do not return to saṃsāra, but attain the supreme, unchanging state and abide in bliss.
In Śānti Parva’s instruction on dharma and liberation, Bhīṣma teaches Yudhiṣṭhira that inner realization of the Lord (Hari) culminates in reaching the highest abode/state, beyond decay and rebirth.
