निर्वेदोपदेशः (Nirveda-Upadeśa) — Maṅki’s Dispassion and the Limits of Wealth-Seeking
भुक्तवन्तं च त॑ विप्रं प्रीतात्मानं महातपा: । क्लमापनयनार्थ स पक्षाभ्यामभ्यवीजयत्
bhuktavantaṃ ca taṃ vipraṃ prītātmānaṃ mahātapāḥ | klamāpanayanārthaṃ sa pakṣābhyām abhyavījayat ||
婆罗门用毕饮食、心满意足之后,那位大苦行的神鸟为消除他的疲惫,便以双翼轻轻为他扇风。
भीष्म उवाच
Austerity and righteousness are validated through compassionate conduct: after feeding a guest, one should also care for their comfort and fatigue. Tapas is shown as gentle service, not mere self-denial.
After the brahmin has eaten and become content, the great ascetic bird fans him with its wings to relieve his tiredness, demonstrating attentive hospitality.
