असंतोषादिदोष-निरूपणम्

On the Faults of Discontent and the Discipline of Detachment

दृश्यं पश्यति य: पश्यन्‌ स चनक्षुष्मान्‌ स बुद्धिमान्‌ | अज्ञातानां च विज्ञानात्‌ सम्बोधाद्‌ बुद्धिरुच्यते

dṛśyaṃ paśyati yaḥ paśyan sa ca cakṣuṣmān sa buddhimān | ajñātānāṃ ca vijñānāt sambodhād buddhir ucyate ||

凡能在见之时真知所见之境,而自处为“见证者”(Witness)者,方称为真正有眼、真正有智。由于它能令未知者得知,并引发清明的觉悟,故内在器官(antaḥkaraṇa)的一种作用(vṛtti)被称为“buddhi”(辨慧、抉择之智)。
