महर्षिभ्यो ददौ खड्गमृषयो वासवाय च । भगवान् विष्णुने मरीचिको, मरीचिने महर्षियोंको और महर्षियोंने इन्द्रको वह खड्ग प्रदान किया
maharṣibhyo dadau khaḍgam ṛṣayo vāsavāya ca | bhagavān viṣṇune marīciko, marīcine maharṣīṃś ca, maharṣayas tu indraṃ taṃ khaḍgaṃ pradadau |
毗湿摩说道：吉祥的主（毗湿奴）将此剑赐予摩利支；摩利支又将其交付诸大圣仙；诸圣仙继而把这柄剑授与婆娑婆（因陀罗）。因此，此兵器被叙述为一份神圣的托付，经由正直之手相传——其正当性并非仅凭武力，而根植于一脉被净化的守护传承与负责任的运用。
