भीष्मजी कहते हैं--राजन्! वे गीध और गीदड़ दोनों ही भूखे थे और अपने उद्देश्यकी सिद्धिके लिये मृतकके बन्धु-बान्धवोंसे बातें करते थे। गीध कहता था कि सूर्य अस्त हो गये और सियार कहता था नहीं ।।
svakāryabaddhakakṣau tau rājan gṛdhro 'tha jambukaḥ | kṣutpipāsāpariśrāntau śāstram ālambya jalpataḥ ||
毗湿摩说道：“大王啊，那兀鹫与豺狼二者皆饥饿难耐，却各自一心只求成就自身之利。它们因饥渴而困顿，便借‘经论之理’为依托相互争辩——各以似是而非的学问之辞，为自己的主张作辩护。”
