Nārada–Vāyu–Śalmali Upākhyāna: Enmity with the Strong and the Primacy of Buddhi
iti śrīmahābhārate śāntiparvaṇi āpaddharmaparvaṇi indrotapārīkṣitīyasaṃvāde pañcāśadadhikaśatatamo 'dhyāyaḥ
This line is a colophon (closing formula), not a doctrinal verse. Its function is to locate the teaching within the Mahābhārata’s structure—Śānti Parva, the Āpaddharma section—and to indicate that the Indrota–Parīkṣit dialogue’s chapter has concluded.
The narrative voice signals the end of a chapter: within Bhīṣma’s larger instruction in Śānti Parva, the specific dialogue involving Indrota and King Parīkṣit reaches its chapter conclusion, and the text formally marks the chapter number.
