भीष्म उवाच
Courage becomes ethically meaningful when it is guided by dharma: a warrior who abandons death-fear and seeks victory by righteous means is said to overcome even severe hardships and inner turmoil.
In the Śānti Parva’s instruction to Yudhiṣṭhira, Bhīṣma continues teaching about dharma and conduct; here he praises warriors who, amid battle, set aside fear of death and pursue victory in a lawful, duty-bound manner.
