Jaitrya-nimitta: Signs of Prospective Victory and the Priority of Conciliation (जयलक्षण-निमित्त तथा सान्त्व-प्रधान नीति)

इष्टा मृगा: पृष्ठतो वामतश्न सम्प्रस्थितानां च गमिष्यतां च । जिघांसतां दक्षिणा: सिद्धिमाहु- यें त्वग्रतस्ते प्रतिषेधयन्ति

iṣṭā mṛgāḥ pṛṣṭhato vāma-taś ca samprasthitānāṃ ca gamiṣyatāṃ ca | jighāṃsatāṃ dakṣiṇāḥ siddhim āhur ye tv agratas te pratiṣedhayanti ||

毗湿摩说道:“当军队出发或整装待发之时,若吉兽现于后方或左侧,便被认为能成就所愿之果;战斗正酣之际,若见于右侧,则说是成功之兆;但若径直出现在前方,便被视为禁令——警示不可发动那次征战之行。”
