三阇耶说道:“大王啊,当睿智的法子(坚战,Yudhiṣṭhira)如此言毕,你的儿子——仍藏身水中——便以这些话作答。”

The verse frames an ethical tension: righteous speech and inquiry (from Dharmaputra) confront a response delivered from concealment (the son in water). It suggests that in the aftermath of violence, moral reckoning still proceeds through dialogue, yet character is revealed by whether one meets accountability openly or evasively.
Sanjaya reports to Dhritarashtra that after Yudhishthira addresses Duryodhana, Duryodhana—who is staying hidden in the water—begins to reply. This is a transition line introducing Duryodhana’s forthcoming speech.
