द्वैपायनह्रदे दुर्योधनान्वेषणम् / The Search for Duryodhana at Dvaipāyana Lake
जितो दुर्योधन: संख्ये पाण्डवैर्भीमविक्रमै: । एकादशचमूभर्ता भ्रातरश्नास्य सूदिता:
sañjaya uvāca | jito duryodhanaḥ saṅkhye pāṇḍavair bhīmavikramaiḥ | ekādaśa-camū-bhartā bhrātaraś cāsya sūditāḥ |
三阇耶说道:在战场上,统御十一军(阿克绍希尼)的杜尔约陀那,被具毗摩般威力的般度五子击败;他的诸兄弟亦皆被杀。
संजय उवाच
The verse highlights the ethical arc of the epic: worldly strength and vast armies cannot secure victory when leadership is rooted in adharma; the fruits of unjust ambition ripen as defeat and destruction.
Sanjaya reports to Dhritarashtra that Duryodhana, commander of eleven military hosts, has been overcome in battle by the mighty Pandavas, and that Duryodhana’s brothers have also been slain.
