Yudhiṣṭhira’s Lament and Kṛṣṇa’s Rudra-Cosmogony Explanation
bhūtāny anvasṛjat sapta dakṣādīṁs tu prajāpātīn | yair imaṁ vyakarot sarva-bhūta-grāmaṁ catur-vidham ||
Creation is portrayed as a dharmically ordered process: the supreme source establishes progenitors (Prajāpatis) and structured categories, indicating that life and society are meant to function within an intelligible cosmic order and delegated responsibility.
Vaiśampāyana describes a stage of creation in which seven groups of beings and the Prajāpatis (starting with Dakṣa) are produced, and through these agents the full fourfold range of living creatures is spread out and organized.
