Aśvatthāman’s Curse, Parikṣit’s Future, and the Mani’s Restitution

The verse underscores moral causality and the endurance of rightful order: despite the schemes of the misguided, dharmic succession and legitimate kingship will prevail, and the Kuru line will be restored through Parīkṣit.
Vaiśampāyana delivers a pointed declaration/foreshadowing: even as the addressed wrongdoer watches, Parīkṣit—described as a mighty-armed Kuru prince—will become the emperor of the whole earth.
