Martial knowledge is framed within dharma: the highest weapons are to be learned under a qualified teacher and held under the restraint of kṣatriya-vrata, implying disciplined power used for protection and rightful governance rather than aggression.
Vaiśampāyana foretells the boy’s training: he will receive comprehensive instruction in astras from Kṛpācārya (Śaradvat’s son), and after mastering even the supreme weapons he will remain committed to the warrior code.
