Book 10, Adhyāya 12: Aśvatthāmā’s Request for the Cakra and the Brahmaśiras Context
समानव्रतचारिण्यां रुक्मिण्यां योडन्वजायत । सनत्कुमारस्तेजस्वी प्रद्युम्नो नाम मे सुत:
samānavratacāriṇyāṁ rukmiṇyāṁ yo ’nvajāyata | sanatkumāras tejasvī pradyumno nāma me sutaḥ ||
毗湿摩波耶那说道:“从守持同样誓戒与修行的鲁克米妮那里,诞生了一位光辉灿然的儿子——即圣童神萨那特库玛罗(化身)——名为普拉丢姆那,是我的儿子。”
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights the ideal of shared vows and disciplined conduct within marriage (samānavrata), presenting such harmony as a fertile ground for auspicious lineage and spiritual brilliance.
Vaiśampāyana states that from Rukmiṇī—described as sharing the same vows—was born the radiant Pradyumna, identified with Sanatkumāra, emphasizing his exalted nature and lineage.
