ततो&5हमन्र॒वं तत्र विदुरेण प्रचोदित: । वरं ददानि कृष्णायै काड्क्षितं यद् यदिच्छति,संजय! यह सब देखकर द्रोणके साथ भीष्म, कृपाचार्य, सोमदत्त और महामना बाह्नीक वहाँसे उठकर चले गये। तब मैंने विदुरकी प्रेरणासे वहाँ यह बात कही---'मैं कृष्णाको मनोवांछित वर दूँगा। वह जो कुछ चाहे, माँग सकती है”

随后,在毗度罗的催促下,我当场说道:“三阇耶啊,我将赐给黑公主(克利什那,即德劳帕蒂)一项随心所愿的恩赐——她想要什么,尽可开口。”
धृतराष्ट उवाच
Power is accountable to dharma: when wrongdoing becomes undeniable, ethical counsel (Vidura) can compel a ruler to attempt restitution. Yet the verse also hints that delayed justice—offered only after public disgrace—cannot fully undo harm, and thus highlights the need for timely moral action.
After the shocking events in the royal assembly, senior elders such as Bhīṣma and Droṇa leave. Prompted by Vidura, Dhṛtarāṣṭra addresses Sañjaya and declares that he will grant Draupadī (Kṛṣṇā) any boon she desires, initiating an attempt to remedy the injustice done to her.
