भीष्म उवाच उक्तवानस्मि कल्याणि धर्मस्य परमा गति: । लोके न शक््यते ज्ञातुमपि विज्ञैर्महात्मभि:,भीष्मजीने कहा--कल्याणि! मैं पहले ही कह चुका हूँ कि धर्मकी गति बड़ी सूक्ष्म है। लोकमें विज्ञ महात्मा भी उसे ठीक-ठीक नहीं जान सकते
bhīṣma uvāca: uktavān asmi kalyāṇi dharmasya paramā gatiḥ | loke na śakyate jñātum api vijñair mahātmabhiḥ ||
毗湿摩说道:“贤淑的夫人啊,我早已说过:达摩之行极其微妙。在此世间,难以尽知——即便是睿智的大士,也未必能明察其全。”
भीष्म उवाच
Dharma’s true course is subtle and difficult to pin down; one should approach moral judgment with humility, recognizing that even the wise may not grasp it completely.
Bhishma addresses a noble woman and reiterates a prior point: that discerning the precise workings and outcomes of dharma in worldly situations is extremely difficult, even for learned and virtuous people.
