दमघोषात्मजं वीरं संस्कारयत मा चिरम्‌ | तथा च कृतवन्तस्ते भ्रातुर्व शासनं तदा,पाण्डुनन्दन युधिष्ठिरने अपने भाइयोंसे कहा--“दमघोष-पुत्र वीर राजा शिशुपालका अन्त्येष्टि संस्कार बड़े सत्कारके साथ करो, इसमें देर न लगाओ।” पाण्डवोंने भाईकी उस आज्ञाका यथार्थरूपसे पालन किया

Transliteration

Vaiśampāyana uvāca | Damaghoṣātmajaṃ vīraṃ saṃskārayata mā ciram | tathā ca kṛtavantaste bhrātur vāśāsanaṃ tadā ||

Translation

毗湿摩耶那说：“不可迟延，当以应有的尊荣，为达摩戈沙之子、勇士尸输波罗举行最后的丧仪。”当时般度五子一丝不苟地奉行兄长之命。此事昭示：即便对已败亡的敌手，达摩亦要求及时而庄重的葬礼；而正直的统御，正显于慈悯、礼法与对正当命令的遵从。
