Educational Q&A

Moral persuasion has limits when a person is firmly committed to wrongdoing; recognizing an adversary’s resolve helps guide a dharmic response—whether continued negotiation is meaningful or whether stronger measures are required.

The speaker reports to Kṛṣṇa that the ‘wicked’ opponent (identified in context as Jarāsandha) is not likely to submit or be controlled; his tightened waist-cloth symbolizes readiness for combat and determination to resist until death.
