नायं पापो मया कृष्ण युक्त: स्यादनुरोधितुम् । प्राणेन यदुशार्टूल बद्धकक्षेण वाससा,“यदुश्रेष्ठ श्रीकृष्ण! जरासंधने लंगोटसे अपनी कमर खूब कस ली है। यह पापी प्राण रहते मेरे वशमें आनेवाला नहीं जान पड़ता”
naayaṃ pāpo mayā kṛṣṇa yuktaḥ syād anurodhitum | prāṇena yaduśārṭūla baddhakakṣeṇa vāsasā ||
“噢,克里希纳,这罪恶之人似乎既不能被我制伏,也不肯受我劝服。噢,雅度族之虎,他把腰布紧紧束起,仿佛决意战至最后一息——只要他尚有生气,便不会落入我手。”
वैशम्पायन उवाच
Moral persuasion has limits when a person is firmly committed to wrongdoing; recognizing an adversary’s resolve helps guide a dharmic response—whether continued negotiation is meaningful or whether stronger measures are required.
The speaker reports to Kṛṣṇa that the ‘wicked’ opponent (identified in context as Jarāsandha) is not likely to submit or be controlled; his tightened waist-cloth symbolizes readiness for combat and determination to resist until death.
