The verse highlights disciplined kingship and dharmic restraint: after honoring relationships and completing public obligations, the ruler returns to calm domestic order, suggesting that ethical governance includes self-control, proper social conduct, and balanced private life.
Vaiśampāyana narrates that Dharmarāja (Yudhiṣṭhira) dismisses his well-wishers—brothers and sons—and then, accompanied by Draupadī, sits in the royal residence and experiences contentment.
