Educational Q&A

A ruler should deliberate carefully and then act for the realm’s true welfare (kṣema), remaining constantly vigilant and proactive in protecting the dharmic functioning of society—here expressed as safeguarding the four varṇas in their rightful duties and security.

Nārada addresses a king (rājendra), concluding a counsel section by urging him to reflect on the preceding guidance and to implement what ensures stability and well-being, emphasizing continual alertness in maintaining social order.
