Chapter 6: Dāruka’s Report; Arjuna Witnesses Dvārakā’s Desolation (दारुकवृत्तान्तः—अर्जुनस्य द्वारकादर्शनम्)

तन्नूनमन्यथा कर्तु नैच्छत्‌ स जगत: प्रभु: । परंतप अर्जुन! मेरे पुत्ररूपमें अवतीर्ण हुए वे जगदीश्वर गान्धारी तथा महर्षियोंके शापको पलटना नहीं चाहते थे, इसीलिये उन्होंने सदा ही इस संकटकी उपेक्षा की || १५६ || प्रत्यक्ष भवतश्नचापि तव पौत्र: परंतप

tan nūnam anyathā kartuṃ naicchat sa jagataḥ prabhuḥ | parantapa arjuna! me putrarūpeṇāvatīrṇāḥ te jagadīśvarā gāndhārī-tathā-maharṣiṇāṃ śāpaṃ palṭanaṃ na icchanti sma, tasmāt te sadā eva asya saṅkaṭasya upekṣāṃ cakruḥ ||

诚然,宇宙之主并不愿使此事另作他途。阿周那啊,焚敌者:那位以我之子身分降世的至上主,并不欲推翻甘陀利与诸大圣贤所下的诅咒;因此他始终对这步步逼近的灾厄置若罔闻,任其按自身的轨迹发展。
