Educational Q&A

The verse underscores the inevitability of consequences and the swift unfolding of fate after the collapse of a lineage; it also reflects moral certainty—Vasudeva’s conviction that Arjuna, bound by duty and kinship, will respond immediately upon hearing of the Yadus’ destruction.

In the Mausala Parva’s aftermath, Vasudeva anticipates Arjuna’s imminent arrival, reasoning that the news of the Yadu clan’s annihilation has already reached him and that Arjuna will rush to the scene without delay.
