Educational Q&A

The verse highlights the ethical ideal of acknowledging wise guidance and rightful support: great achievements in a righteous cause are credited not only to personal valor but also to sound counsel and the presence of a dharmic guide (here, Kṛṣṇa as charioteer and strategist).

Yudhiṣṭhira expresses relief and gratitude after a major battlefield success, declaring it unsurprising given Kṛṣṇa’s presence. He praises Kṛṣṇa’s role as charioteer and counselor, attributing Arjuna’s effective action and the completion of the ‘great deed’ to Kṛṣṇa’s guidance.
