Shloka 17

तान्‌ समानीय पुत्रस्ते यत्नेन महता विभु: । निवेशाय मनो दश्रे दु:ःखशोकसमन्वित:,दुःख और शोकमें डूबे हुए आपके पुत्र राजा दुर्योधनने बड़े यत्नसे उन सबको साथ ले आकर छावनीमें विश्राम करनेका विचार किया

tān samānīya putras te yatnena mahatā vibhuḥ | niveśāya mano dadhre duḥkhaśokasamanvitaḥ ||

三阇耶说道:你的儿子——那位强大的国王——沉溺于悲痛与哀伤之中,费尽心力将众人召集起来,心中决意退回营寨歇息。此偈表明:在战争的道德与情感重压下,即便强权之主也会因疲惫与内心苦楚而求暂时的安歇,而非获得清明的判断。
