अध्याय ९ — कर्णस्य प्रहारः, योधयुग्मनियोजनम्, शैनेय-कैकेययोर्युद्धविन्यासः
कथमिन्द्रोपमं वीर मृत्युर्युद्धे समस्पृशत् । मैं पूछता हूँ कि युद्धमें बहुत-से दिव्यास्त्रोंकी वर्षा करते हुए इन्द्रके समान पराक्रमी वीर कर्णको मृत्यु कैसे छू सकी?
katham indropamaṃ vīra mṛtyur yuddhe samaspṛśat |
毗舍波耶那说道：“战场之上，死神怎能触及那位英雄——迦尔纳——他勇力如因陀罗，且倾泻无数天界神兵如雨？”此问凸显战争在道义上的震骇：纵使最强者手握天授之力，仍难逃命运、时轮，以及由法与往业交织而成的果报。
