अभ्यापतत्‌ कर्णसुतो महारथं यथा महेन्द्र नमुचि: पुरा तथा । महासमरमें सहस्रों बाण धारण करनेवाले भयंकर नरवीर महारथी अर्जुनको अपनी ओर आते देख कर्णकुमार वृषसेन भी उनकी ओर उसी प्रकार दौड़ा

sañjaya uvāca |

abhyāpatat karṇasuto mahārathaṃ yathā mahendraṃ namuciḥ purā tathā |

三阇耶说道:迦尔那之子、伟大的车战勇士,向那位强者猛冲而去,正如古时那牟支曾袭击摩诃因陀罗(因陀罗)一般。在这可怖的大战挤压之中,他看见阿周那——可畏而坚定,携带无数箭矢——正向自己逼近,弗利沙塞那也随即迎面冲杀,以古老的范式昭示:大胆的挑战者敢于向诸天之主出手。
