तत्रान्तरे सुमहत् सूतपुत्र- श्रक्रे युद्धे सोमकान् सम्प्रमृदूनन् रथाश्वमातड्रगणान् जघान प्रच्छादयामास शरैर्दिशश्ष,इसी बीचमें सूतपुत्र कर्णने सोमकोंका संहार करते हुए उनके साथ महान् युद्ध किया। उनके बहुत-से घोड़े, रथ और हाथियोंका वध कर डाला और बाणोंद्वारा सम्पूर्ण दिशाओंको आच्छादित कर दिया
