अद्य कृष्ण विकर्णा मे कर्ण नेष्यन्ति मृत्यवे । गाण्डीवमुक्ता: क्षिण्वन्तो मम हस्तप्रचोदिता:,“श्रीकृष्ण! आज मेरे हाथसे प्रेरित और गाण्डीव-धनुषसे मुक्त हुए विकर्ण नामक बाण कर्णको क्षत-विक्षत करते हुए उसे यमलोक पहुँचा देंगे
sañjaya uvāca |
adya kṛṣṇa vikarṇā me karṇa neṣyanti mṛtyave |
gāṇḍīvamuktāḥ kṣiṇvanto mama hastapracoditāḥ ||
三阇耶说道:“噢,克里希纳,今日由我亲手驱使、从甘狄瓦弓射出的‘毗迦尔那’之箭,将撕裂迦尔纳,把他送往阎摩之界——送入死亡。”
संजय उवाच
The verse highlights the warrior ethos of the epic: decisive intent in battle and the inevitability of death once the moment of destiny arrives. It also underscores how weapons and skill become instruments through which fate is executed.
Sanjaya reports a confident declaration addressed to Krishna: that arrows named ‘Vikarna,’ shot from Arjuna’s Gandiva and directed by the speaker’s hand, will grievously wound Karna and bring about his death.
