The verse highlights the kṣatriya ideal of steadfastness: armies rally around their leaders and re-enter conflict without fear. Ethically, it underscores how collective resolve and loyalty to one’s side can intensify war, reminding readers that leadership and allegiance shape the moral and practical course of battle.
After a prior phase of fighting, the two coalitions regroup and clash again. The Pāṇḍavas are described as led by Yudhiṣṭhira, while the Kaurava side is described as led by Karṇa, marking the renewed engagement and the alignment of forces around their principal commanders.
