Śalya invokes an ancient divine precedent to underscore the overwhelming power of a divinely backed warrior and the inevitability of outcomes when higher forces and superior knowledge are involved; Kṛṣṇa’s foreknowledge and the gods’ decisive action frame the war as more than mere human contest.
Śalya addresses a Kuru hero and cites a well-known mythic episode: Brahmā once served as Mahādeva’s charioteer, and the Asuras were destroyed with a single arrow. He adds that Kṛṣṇa already knows this entire ancient account, using it as a persuasive comparison within the ongoing war discourse.
