tatra siddhā mahārāja sampatanto ’bruvan vacaḥ | prabho mahārāja! tadā tatra uḍḍīya samāgatāḥ siddhāḥ parasparaṃ evam ūcuḥ—“idaṃ yuddhaṃ sarva-yuddhebhyaḥ śreṣṭhataraṃ pravartate; anyāni sarvāṇi yuddhāni tu asya ṣoḍaśīṃ kalām api na samāḥ āsan.”

The verse underscores the extraordinary magnitude and moral weight of the Kurukṣetra conflict: it is portrayed as unparalleled, witnessed even by perfected celestial beings, implying that the consequences and ethical stakes exceed those of ordinary wars.
Sañjaya reports to Dhṛtarāṣṭra that Siddhas arrive through the sky and, speaking among themselves, declare that the present battle surpasses all previous wars—others not even equaling a sixteenth part of it.
